Selection for the Lancashire County Team is based on scores achieved at open tournaments ONLY. There are no stated 'selection shoots' that archers must attend.

The selectors and Team Manager keep copies of local tournament results and those which we feel Lancashire archers would be attending, including:

• Timperley Double FITA
• All Lilleshall shoots
• Eccles Double 720
• Lancashire Weekend
• Grand Northern
• New Century Bowmen double York/Hereford
• Cheshire Championships
• Internationals
• etc.

There are three county matches per year, dates and venues on the LAA home page:

• Lancashire v Cheshire v Warwickshire (May)
• Lancashire v N.Wales v Shropshire (June)
• 5-Counties Match (October)

The two Selectors, currently Charlie Richardson (P&S) and Barry Collinson (Rochdale), discuss their choices. The Team Manager contacts the archers regarding availability.

Because of the lack of Lancashire archers attending outdoor open tournaments it is becoming more difficult to provide a County Team. The selectors need scores from:

• Lady Compound
• Lady Longbow
• Gent Recurve
• Gent Compound
• Gent Longbow
